SENIOR MANAGEMENT CHANGES
Bryce
Burns named Interim CEO, Richard Lauer named President
IRVINE,
Calif., January 2, 2001 - Raining Data Corporation (Nasdaq Small
Cap: RDTA), formerly known as Omnis Technology Corporation,
today announced that it has named Bryce Burns, Chairman of the
Board, to the additional post of Interim CEO. The company also
named Richard Lauer, Chief Operating Officer (COO), to the additional
title of President. The senior management changes were made
to replace Gilbert Figueroa, Raining Data's former CEO and President,
who left the company to pursue other business opportunities.
Figueroa will maintain his seat on Raining Data's Board of Directors.

track record of growing revenues and profits rapidly in both

Bryce
Burns, who has served as Chairman of the Board since September
2000, brings 13 years of enterprise software experience to his
new leadership role at Raining Data. He was previously Director
of Business Planning and Release Management with Novell, Inc,
a major networking software provider. Burns was responsible
for Novell's project strategy and direction. Mr. Burns also
served as Executive Vice President and COO of Caldera Systems,
Inc., a leader in the provision of Linux-based business solutions
and President of Applied Medical Informatics, Inc. a medical
software company. Mr. Burns holds a BS degree in Medical Biology
from the University of Utah and an MBA from Brigham Young University.
Richard
Lauer joined the company in March 2000 and has over 20 years
of experience in executive officer positions with several computer
hardware and software companies. He recently served as Executive
Director, Enterprise Solutions Division of Compuware Corporation,
President and COO of Cambridge Parallel Processing and COO of
Strategic Computer Analysis Systems. In addition, Mr. Lauer
served as Vice-President of Sales/Marketing and Business Development
at Sequoia Systems and Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing
for Pick Systems. Mr. Lauer holds a degree in Business Administration
from California State University at Fullerton and an MBA from
Pepperdine University.
